Community Service

    • Neighborhood Resiliency Project Free Health Center
      • This organization partners with the Hill District of Pittsburgh to deliver trauma-informed community development, a framework that establishes and promotes resilient healing and healthy communities. As a volunteer, I assist with maintaining the clinic which serves to provide free primary, behavioral and dental care to people who are under and un-insured.
    • School2Career
      • School2Career is an afterschool program for urban high school students in the Pittsburgh area. Throughout my undergraduate career I have been able to serve as a mentor and tutor to students in this program.
    • Bethesda Child Support Agency
      • During the Summer of 2019 after my study abroad trip in Tanzania I interned at the Bethesda Child Support Agency, an NGO committed to providing education and support for underprivileged children. As an intern driven by the heavy enthusiasm from my study abroad trip, I created and led a health initiative program that provided education on hygiene practices to over 200 elementary and middle school aged students
    • Keep It Real
      • Keep It real is a student run mentoring and tutoring program for members of the Somali-Bantu community. Through this organization, I served as a travel in-home tutor for 4 elementary aged students.
