Awards and Achievements

The purpose of The ODK Senior of the Year Award is to  recognizes a senior who exhibits a high standard of leadership, community service, and extracurricular activities.

Phi Beta Kappa is the leading national honor society for students in the liberal arts and sciences.  It invites to membership only those few students who have achieved unusually outstanding academic records in a broad liberal arts curriculum leading to the bachelor’s degree.  Membership is an honor that is prized by scholars, employers, and the public.

As an ambassador, I serve as a liaison between students, both enrolled in and looking to enroll in the African Studies Certificate, and the administration. I visit classes to promote the certificate, serve as a peer counselor, represent the program at university events, and help plan events the program sponsors.

I completed this fellowship during the summer of 2020. Here I Learned about the fundamentals of patient safety as they relate to preparedness and crisis intervention from healthcare experts, along with analyzing the U.S. response to COVID-19. At the end of the fellowship I completed a final project that analyzed an independent hospital’s response to an HIV outbreak at a rural
high school
