While at Pitt, I focused my language studies on Spanish. I grew up with Spanish constantly spoken in my house, but I never learned how to speak fluently. I decided to dive deeper and strengthen my Spanish skills by taking Spanish courses here at Pitt.

Through these courses, I became familiar with speaking Spanish more often and understanding the grammatical rules of the language. I had ample opportunities to practice with my family and to strengthen my overall ability to communicate in Spanish.

Because of my strict academic curriculum, I was unable to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country but I hope to take advantage of abroad experiences in a Spanish speaking country. My experience in these classes will serve as a foundation as I venture out to another country and gain additional proficiency in my Spanish skills.
