F.O.R.G.E.

I volunteered with forge as a tutor for my sophomore and junior years. As a tutor my sophomore year, I helped a high school student with SAT prep and the college application process. It was immensely rewarding as I was able to provide her with important information and watch her performance on practice sections of the SAT improve.

As a junior, I volunteered as an after-school tutor with high school students at Brashear High school and helped them with their homework and other school tasks as necessary. The students were refugee students and I learned just as much working from them as they might have learned from me.

Volunteering with FORGE was very rewarding and I hope to continue supporting similar programs in the future.

Days for Girls

I was one of the founding members and Business manager of the local Pitt chapter of Days for Girls, an international organization to promote female health by increasing access to menstrual care and education. As a club, we raised money to fund projects run by Days for Girls in other countries and volunteered at local sewing events where we assembled the female hygiene kits distributed to women around the world who needed them.

As business manager, I organized club finances and fundraisers and helped plan and run club events. Working with Days for Girls provided invaluable experience working with an international organization and planning experience that will help me in the future.
