• Human Rights Non-Governmental Organizations - Ulterior Motives?

  We collaborated on and did research to seek out NGO's advancing a Human Rights cause in pursuit of an underlying agenda, unrelated to Human Rights.

  In the Spring semester of 2016, I worked with Dr. Michael Goodhart, of Pitt Political Science, on a research project to contribute to a book to be published in the near future regarding Human Rights. Specifically, we wanted to investigate whether certain non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) that advanced their cause through the framework of Human Rights were actually using this to pursue an ulterior, unrelated goal. From January until the end of April, I did research on a myriad of NGO’s to find out when and where this phenomena was occurring, and why.
