Summa Cum Laude is awarded to baccalaureate degree students attaining an outstanding scholastic record
University Honors College Scholar designation is awarded to Pitt’s most ambitious students, whose sustained efforts take full advantage of honors opportunities and exemplify the Honors College’s core values of attainment, intellectual curiosity, and social consciousness. Requirements include:
3 honors courses taken across multiple academic disciplines
3 honors-caliber activities (graduate course, Honors College research fellowships, in-depth study abroad and internship experiences)
Intellectualcuriosity, evidenced by multiple majors, certificates, or a double degree program representing broad interests across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences
Contributing to the public good, indicated by an in-depth, ongoing commitment to impacting the lives of others and reflecting on what was learned through such experiences
